| Elterwater Park Country Guest House
Elterwater Park Country Guest House is a
traditional Lakeland house, high on the hills above Langdale, just 3 miles from Ambleside and 1 mile from
Skelwith Bridge. Its parkland borders Elterwater, the Lake of Swans, a leisurely 10 minute walk away.
There are spectacular views of the Hardknott and Wrynose passes to the West. North looks towards Dunmail Raise
and Loughrigg dominates the East.
At Elterwater Park great care has been taken to preserve traditional features while ensuring every modern
comfort. Each elegantly furnished room is spacious and airy, warm in winter and cool in summer, with lovely
views.
The farmland skirts the River Brathay and the copses are the haunt of red and roe deer as well as buzzards and
owls. In summer the swallows dart overhead and nest in the great stone barn, over 200years old. Herdwick sheep
from the National Trust's farm at Fell Foot graze here also.
Caroline and Murdoch Macaulay, the hosts at Elterwater Park, are always available to help in any way they can. |
